What about security and encryption?

To us the security of your data is our highest priority. We are using a powerful server system and have a dedicated developer team using the best engineering practices to build and maintain our service.

Our employees are prohibited from viewing the content of the collection you are capturing with our system. Employees may access metadata (e.g. number of objects, sets and storages) when they have a legitimate reason, like providing technical support or checking the usage based subscription status. And like most online services, we must be able to access user data for the reasons stated in our privacy policy. But that’s the rare exception, not the rule.

To protect your data in transit we are using SSL/TLS for file transfer, creating a secure tunnel protected by 128-bit or higher AES encryption. You can securely access your collection any time from our web applications.

You can also protect your collections catalog by creating a unique password and guarding it closely. Ensure that you are using a unique password for each service you are using and changing them will also help to keep your collection secure.

By default, we are saving a history of all deleted objects, storages and sets, and allow you to restore them for up to 10 days from the trash section in your accounts setting (main menu > settings > trash). Within the trash section you will also be able to permanently delete these items – which will also remove them from our servers right away. All backups are encrypted with GPG.
